Holland America Scales Back 2019 New York Fall Cruises But Expands Boston Sailings

Holland America's Zaandam Will Sail From Boston 2019 - New York Sailings Reduced.

In a surprise move Holland America has decided to deploy the Zaandam on 2019 Spring/Summer New England. Canada cruises from Boston. The Zaandam is larger than the prior ship deployed on the route measuring in at 61,398 tons and carries 1,432 passengers (double occupancy) and a crew of 610. The Zaandam will be joined by the Veendam and Rotterdam that will sail from Boston in the fall of 2019.

The New York sailings has been cut back to 1 ship and 1 sailing. The Zuiderdam will make a 10-Day, one way voyage between New York and Quebec Canada on September 9th, 2019.

Blount Adventure Cruises - Boutique Cruise Ship Grande Caribe. On Friday I saw a number of ships in unique positions. Royal Caribbean’s Adventure of the Seas was heading toward Cape Liberty Bayonne, NJ after completing a repositioning cruise in the Caribbean. She is arriving in New York to start her Spring, Summer and Fall cruise season and departed New York on Friday (5/17/19) on an 8-day Bermuda and Bahamas cruise. Her New York / New Jersey cruise season will include cruises to Bermuda, the Bahamas, the Caribbean, Florida, Bahamas and   New England / Canada. At the same time, the Adventure of the Seas was heading to New York, the small cruise ship American Constitution of American Cruise Line was heading toward Boston for a series of New England / Canada Cruises before sailing to New York for a series of Fall Foliage Hudson River Cruises. The small ship carries approximately 175 guests in oversized suites. Focus of these cruises is on education and port exploration.
